The Human Resources Coordinator supports the Human Resource functions in the Distribution Center including performance management, employee relations, recruitment, benefits, timekeeping, Leaves of Absence (LOA), Workers Compensation, employee engagement, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. This position coordinates administrative functions for Distribution Center and Human Resources activities.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Employee Relations
- Resolves simple employee relations issues by listening to employees, collecting relevant information, and partnering with the HR Generalist or manager to provide solutions to employees and management
- Escalates complex issues including harassment, discrimination, and general conduct to Human Resources Generalist or Manager as necessary
- Supports investigations of escalated employee issues, complaints, and situations by collecting relevant information, serving as a witness and documenting details as necessary
- Performance Management
- Supports the program by documenting and communicating performance successes and issues consistently
- Reviews performance appraisals and performance improvement plans for accuracy and informs management and employees of the process
- Monitors attendance performance, trends, and policy violations
- Actively engages with all employees in the Distribution Center through observation conversation, and coaching
- Coordinates and facilitates technical skill and human resource functional training based on identified needs
- Company Culture
- Facilitates and supports all Distribution Center events including service anniversaries and celebrations
- Updates and maintains employee communication tools including communication boards, surveys and newsletters
- Supports programs to strengthen employee engagement and company culture, including reward and recognition for employees
- General Office Administration
- Serves as the Distribution Center’s point of contact employees
- Provides LOA, Workers Compensation and payroll support to employees and managers
- Maintains employee timecards and in partnership with HR Generalist updates timecards for employees on LOA in Kronos timekeeping system on a weekly basis
- Creates and maintains employee personnel files and records
- Assists with additional office support such as ordering supplies, mailings, report generation, report analysis and benefits administration
- Recruiting and Hiring
- Assists in the recruiting efforts. This can include sourcing resumes, conducting phone screens and interviews, recruiting reporting, and leading job fairs.
- Administer written job offers to selected candidates.
- Monitor progress of each candidate, and once complete, schedule of Foundation Day.
- Coordinate new hire orientation, which may include sending invitations/notifications, complete new hire paperwork; including I-9 documents, and other items that need to be completed.
- Assists with employee system setup in employee systems (Kronos, Manhattan, Badge Software, UltiPro, etc.)
- Welcomes new employees to the company by facilitating the benefits portion of new hire orientation and other portions as needed
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
- Contributes to a clean and safe Distribution Center
Experience And Skills Required
- 2-5 years’ experience in an office environment working in a human resources position
- Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and knowledge of Excel
- Experience with timekeeping system preferred
- Experience with an Applicant Tracking System preferred
- Ability to pass background checks and investigations due to foreign, federal, state and local regulations; based on position responsibility and sensitivity, periodic check and reinvestigations may be performed
- Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Based in the Aberdeen, MD area
