Overview

The Accounting Assistant will play a key role in supporting the accounting team with a primary focus on Accounts Payable (AP) vendor setup and maintenance. This position ensures that vendor information is accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies. In addition to AP duties, the Accounting Assistant will assist with a variety of ad hoc requests and cross-functional projects throughout the department, providing critical administrative and analytical support to ensure smooth accounting operations.

 

This is a temporary, full-time role expected to last approximately six months and is hybrid, in Coppell three days per week.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform vendor onboarding and maintenance in the accounting system, including validating tax forms (W-9, W-8), banking details, and contact information.
  • Ensure vendor records are complete, accurate, and compliant with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and process vendor change requests promptly and accurately.
  • Handle various ad hoc requests across the accounting department, such as research assignments, report generation, or support for special projects.
  • Interacts and effectively communicates with vendors and various internal departments
  • Support the month-end close process by preparing schedules or reconciliations as needed.

 

Experience and Skills Required

  • 2-5 years accounting experience, preferably with exposure to Accounts Payable or vendor management.
  • Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook and Word; knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with Multiview or Oracle a plus
  • Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
