Overview

The Senior Director of eCommerce is a leadership position in the ecommerce team, responsible for delivering eCommerce financial targets and an outstanding digital and customer experience.  This position is a mix of strategic thinking with the ability to execute in a fast-paced environment.  The Senior Director will lead site merchandising, content & storytelling, product roadmap and develop new opportunities for growth.  In addition, this position leads the CRM team, driving revenue, retention and frequency through increased segmentation and personalization.  The successful candidate will be customer focused, highly analytical, and a track record of success in ecommerce.

Position Reports To

Chief Digital Officer

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business planning and forecasts to hit goals with a detailed understanding of drivers, key metrics, and action plans
  • Develop merchandise category plans to hit targets
  • Site content calendar development and execution across the site, ensuring the right content at the right time
  • Develop new ways of highlighting product and organization across and within categories
  • Optimize and enhance product discovery including site navigation on-site search and new approaches
  • Improve customer retention and frequency with the CRM team and increased capabilities, targeting, ensuring the right customer receives the right message at the right time.
  • Maximize partnerships to improve personalization and recommendations driving site conversion
  • Develop strong partnerships with buying and merchant organization to achieve collective goals. Champion new ideas and opportunities for eCommerce
  • Lead digital merchandising including product set up, attribution, category merchandising, landing page optimization, and time to web
  • Highly analytical with a deep understanding of merchant, site and customer analytics to exceed goals
  • Partner with digital marketing team in forecasts, category traffic generation and promotion of events and products.
  • Understands current customer journeys, identifies, and implements opportunities for greater connection and experience improvements
  • Partner with Site Optimization and Product Management on roadmap development and opportunity identification
  • Develop new opportunities for growth in partnership with Merchants and Marketing
  • Drive test & learn culture and innovation in all things digital

Experience and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of related work experience in eCommerce, with experience in site merchandising
  • 8+ years of management/leadership experience
  • Creative problem solver
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with outstanding execution
  • Passion for ecommerce, merchandising and the customer
  • Outstanding analytical skills and experience with ecommerce analytics tools (Google analytics, Adobe, etc.)
  • Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area in hybrid work environment (three days per week in office)
  • Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week
  • Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
  • Possess focused attention to detail and solid organizational and prioritization skills while working quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Makes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of our customers and our company, taking care to objectively process information
