Overview

This role is based at C Studios, recently acquired by The Container Store. C Studios is a home storage solutions and closet organization manufacturer in the U.S. C Studios has been crafting sanctuaries and creating a sense of order for over 34+ years. We are currently seeking excellent candidates to join our team! The Packer position is responsible for material handling including packing and shipping within the manufacturing site. This position works closely with the inventory team, management, and other support teams on shipping and order accuracy. This is a 1st shift full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with Monday through Friday schedule of 5:30am-2:00pm.  This is an on-site position at our C Studio Manufacturing facility in Elmhurst, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with packing, shipping, and material handling functions
  • Pulls and packs outgoing shipments according to company standards
  • Receives, inspects, and confirms inventory received from vendors
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments and reports damaged inventory to management
  • Monitors shipments to ensure that goods come in on time
  • Traces shipments and follows up on undelivered goods
  • Communicates with management and necessary departments in a professional manner
  • Assists department with projects and/or other duties as needed
  • Contributes to the success of the department
  • Adheres to safety guidelines including wearing of safety glasses and ear plugs
  • Contributes to a clean and safe manufacturing environment
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
  • Performs other requested tasks and duties

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One-year of experience working in a shipping department, or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification if needed
  • Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in English
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work safely
  • Good attendance and flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, with all employees
  • Strong problem solving ability.
  • Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
