Overview

The Container Store is looking for a skilled and experienced CAD Program Manager to oversee our CAD systems and processes, ensuring their effective implementation and utilization across the organization. This role combines CAD development, training, documentation creation, and product development. The CAD Program Manager will work closely with the product development team to implement new product offerings and will be responsible for educating staff on the use of CAD tools and standards. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position based on-site in Elmhurst, IL.  This position will report to the Director of CAD Services.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and manages comprehensive CAD programs aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Oversees and executes CAD-related projects from inception to completion.
  • Maintains and optimizes CAD software and hardware infrastructure.
  • Creates and maintains a robust CAD component library.
  • Designs and delivers effective CAD training programs and materials, including training CAD Finals team on weekly process updates and system changes.
  • Develops and enforces comprehensive CAD standards and best practices.
  • Collaborates with product development teams to implement new product offerings utilizing CAD expertise.
  • Conducts regular audits to ensure CAD drawings and models adhere to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize CAD utilization.
  • Stays current with CAD technology advancements and identifies opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensures efficient allocation and utilization of CAD resources within the organization.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 4-7 years of experience in CAD program management or related field. Experience in custom closet industry or wood manufacturing preferred 
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD software, (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Experience with Cabinet Vision and/or Closet Pro a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement CAD standards and procedures.
  • Strong project management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good on-camera presence for training and presenting.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff on CAD software and processes.
