Overview

The Trade Concierge Specialist plays a key role in fueling The Container Store’s growth by driving sales, cultivating lasting Trade Program relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor to design and organizing professionals nationwide. This role is equal parts sales expert, brand ambassador, and client concierge. This is a full-time, hourly position.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with Trade Program Members to offer tailored product recommendations, design Custom Spaces, close sales, place high-value orders, and promote exclusive offers that drive conversions and repeat business.
  • Deliver outstanding product knowledge, resolve shipping issues with urgency, and position yourself as a go-to expert for organizing solutions—ensuring every client interaction results in loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Manage the Trade membership roster, lead application approvals, and support opt-outs with efficiency and precision—keeping our partner list clean, engaged, and ready to buy.
  • Partner with Trade leadership to deliver high-touch onboarding and orientation sessions that convert new members into brand advocates and high-performing clients.
  • Represent The Container Store at trade shows, industry events, and marketing activations—positioning the brand as a leader in organizing solutions and custom design.
  • Partner cross-functionally to manage high-impact email communications and targeted campaigns to Trade Members and internal partners—ensuring messages are clear, timely, and actionable.
  • Gather and report partner and customer feedback, advocate for improvements, and resolve concerns quickly turning insights into actions that elevate the Trade experience.
  • Support local and national relationship-building efforts with organizations such as ASID, AIA, NAPO, apartment associations, and professional networks to fuel top-of-funnel growth and build strategic alliances.
  • Maintain discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer or partner information.
  • Maintains current knowledge of The Container Store business, brands, and product offerings, as well as industry and competitor trends and updates
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule.

Experience and Skills Required

  • College degree preferred
  • 2 – 3 years retail sales or outside sales experience required
  • 2 – 3 years customer service experience required
  • Experience presenting to large groups in a professional format required
  • Experience in closet and storage design preferred
  • Experience in Custom Closet and Storage Industry preferred
  • Salesforce system experience preferred, to produce reports for the purpose of updates on local market activities and progress, including resident and homeowner upgrades as well as purchases and success of B2B Preferred Partnership Program
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently from a remote location based on the Company Telecommuting Policy
  • Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
  • Knowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industry
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week
  • Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
  • Possesses focused attention to detail while working quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Makes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of our customers and our company, taking care to objectively process information
