The Merchandising Business Analyst position is responsible for managing strategic and tactical system projects acting as liaison between the Merchandise Business Systems and Information Systems teams.  The position works closely with the operational business teams (Merchandising, Distribution Center Logistics and Information Systems) to incorporate all factors in tracking and forecasting our business.  This position also develops and manages key business reporting of the company’s key performance indicators (KPIs): gross margin, inventory turn, GMROI, store sales and payroll.

• Develops and supports our corporate merchandise reporting strategy
• Leads strategic/tactical system and reporting projects from end to end, including the development and communication of business requirements documents, project plans, and deployment plans
• Develops and analyzes inventory management reports
• Develops and analyzes merchandise marketing campaign results
• Develops and supports graphical dashboard reporting to be used on the web and mobile devices for the buying teams and Store Leadership teams
• Interacts with multiple retail business departments including Buyers, Inventory Planners, Visual Sales, Store Leadership, Finance and Creative teams
• Acquires data from multiple sources. Use of MicroStrategy, Toad, SQL, etc.
• Produces and analyzes sales and merchandise reports for campaign/visual programs
• Serves as the first point of contact for incoming data requests and systems questions from business users

• College degree required
• 2-5 years business analytics experience
• High proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Supply chain retail systems and reporting experience
• Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area on a hybrid schedule
• Knowledge of retail systems in both vendor-to-Distribution Center and Distribution Center-to-store (E3, Retek, MMD, Inforem, Arthur)
• Experience with database systems (using SQL) and Business Intelligence reporting systems (MicroStrategy experience a plus)
• Experience in developing graphical and visual reporting (i.e. Visual Dashboards reports)
• Knowledge and daily use of advanced excel is a must (experience w/Macro and VBA development a plus)
• Knowledge of merchandise/sku/sales trends relationships
