This role is based at C Studios, recently acquired by The Container Store. Responsibilities

  • Performs CNC machine operations such as: proper set-up and calibration procedures
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
  • Maintains specification by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; replacing worn tolls; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • Maintains work area and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; informing manager of repair needs, when required
  • Documents actions by completing production logs
  • Accomplishes company goals by meeting department goals and daily work requirements within established time frame
  • Utilizes cut lists and/or drawings to ensure that finished parts are correct size and color
  • Loads and uploads materials properly, in accordance with established company guidelines
  • Properly disposes of scrap materials from cuts
  • Responsible for learning to run Beamsaw
  • Responsible for cutting remakes on Beamsaw
  • Reports damaged/defective parts by competing Remake Log Sheet
  • Cleans dust collector bags before shift ends
  • Adheres to guidelines established by the Safety Director, including wearing of safety glasses at all times in the shop and wearing ear plugs
  • Assists on other projects as required by manager

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two-years of experience machining; or at least one-year Vocational/Technical School certification/apprenticeship program; or equivalent combination of education, experience
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
