Logistics Systems Senior Manager 

Overview of Position

The Logistics Systems Senior Manager is responsible for supporting all distribution related technologies and implementation of new solutions.  This position oversees a team of managers and analysts responsible for the maintenance, configuration and testing of all technology utilized in the Distribution Center.  This position also works closely with Information Systems, Distribution Center operations, Transportation, Merchandising Systems and Accounting departments.  This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Please note that The Container Store does not currently offer work visa sponsorship.

Senior Logistics Director

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with strategic direction of logistics initiatives and key process improvement drivers
  • Directs team of managers and operations analysts responsible for maintaining technology utilized throughout the distribution operations
  • Leads implementation of new technology solutions (including hardware and software) in the Distribution Center
  • Oversees all logistics related technology projects along with change management
  • Delivers mission critical solutions in accordance with planned timelines and budget
  • On call to provide 24/7 support for Distribution Center operations
  • Maintains all quality assurance, design and configuration for all existing software and hardware utilized throughout the Distribution Center
  • Drives continuous improvement by identifying opportunities throughout the distribution operations and utilizing technology to support change
  • Identifies and partners with outside vendors, managing the vendor relationships, sourcing and negotiations
  • Responsible for budgeting and expense review for all technology related expenses and capital projects
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment
  • Contributes to a clean and safe Distribution Center
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
  • Performs other requested tasks and duties

 

Experience and Skills Required

  • Prefer college degree in Information Systems or Supply Chain
  • 10 years of technology and/or management consulting experience
  • Ability to travel 10% a year, based on the business needs
  • Extensive knowledge with Warehouse Management Systems and all phases of software evaluation, procurement and implementation
  • Experience with Microsoft office suite, MS Project, MS Visio along with expertise using PL/SQL developer tools.
  • Proven execution of project management methodologies across all phases of the development and implementation life cycle involving logistics technology
  • Experience managing others including career development, directing and evaluating work
  • Ability to pass background checks and investigations due to foreign, federal, state and local regulations;  based on position responsibility and sensitivity, periodic check and reinvestigations may be performed
  • Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
  • Possesses focused attention to detail and solid organizational and prioritization skills while working quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Makes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of our customers and our company, taking care to objectively process information
