Overview

The Business to Business Account Executive is responsible for driving Custom Spaces revenue for The Container Store’s business-to-business (B2B) channel. This position attains quarterly and annual sales targets and establishes strategic business relationships with regional accounts in an assigned territory in the areas of Multifamily and Hospitality development and property management. This position is charged with deep product knowledge of The Container Store brands, high integrity, strong work ethic and the ability to maximize sales performance/goals. This position supports the Northern California sales territory and can be based out of Northern California, Dallas or Chicago.

Responsibilities

  • Understands market potential and maximizes market share within assigned territory/region
  • Develops and maintains strategic, long-term, trusting relationships with Regional Account clients to achieve account growth and stability
  • Generates leads and opportunities via market research, event follow up and networking, and pursues any leads assigned by Sales Director originating from stores, web forms, inbound inquiries and other lead channels
  • Prepares professional sales presentations and proposals and negotiates contracts/purchase agreements with prospective and existing clients
  • Understands the wants and needs of clients, performs competitor analysis, and recommends value-add solutions
  • Meets or exceeds established quarterly and annual sales goals
  • Measures, tracks and analyzes Regional Account metrics, and collects and communicates Regional Account customers’ feedback on service, product delivery and customer experience
  • Serves as contact point for Regional Account clients and B2B Operations team, ensuring a positive customer experience
  • Maintains daily activities and updates in Salesforce
  • Attends tradeshows, conventions, association events, and company-related functions as required
  • Provides added-value to clients through knowledge of key industry trends, new product launches, and amenity offerings
  • Researches industry and business trends to identify opportunities that will lead to increased sales and profitability, as well as potential risks that could create headwinds for the business
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
  • Performs other requested tasks and duties

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • 3+ years of field sales experience and documented success meeting/exceeding quota
  • Experience and understanding of strategies needed in selling in the Commercial Real Estate industry, specifically Multifamily and Hospitality
  • Demonstrated aptitude for networking and building effective relationships within the industry, targeting Developers, Property Managers, Builders, General Contractors, Architects, and Designers
  • Understanding of construction bid process and pipeline tracking
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills with ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines
  • Attention to detail and excellent reporting and documentation skills
  • Experience in Custom Closet and Storage Industry helpful
  • Familiar with The Container Store’s Custom Space systems is a plus
  • Salesforce experience a plus
  • Ability to travel based on the business needs
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
