Overview

The Sr. Manager, Platform Infrastructure & DevOps is responsible for the day-to-day tactical management, technical direction and leadership of the Infrastructure, Database Administrator and DevOps teams. These teams provide engineering services and operational support for our cloud, datacenter, store, and web infrastructure and applications. Managing multiple teams of engineers, this position ensures stability, uptime, and reliability of these systems. This position works closely with the management team and business units to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Owns the architecture, roadmap, design, standardization, availability, and the support of all cloud and physical infrastructure
  • Owns end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence; automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions
  • Leads strategic technology initiatives which build and maintain key elements of the company’s enterprise infrastructure, including but not limited to 24x7 data center infrastructure management and strategy, active directory integration, and virtualization
  • Leads the Infrastructure team in implementing and managing tactical and packaged applications such as Microsoft Windows/Active Directory, various UNIX and Linux systems, and management of other commercial off-the-shelf systems as required
  • Manages third-party service providers in the delivery of projects and infrastructure managed services. Works closely with the Resource Center (help desk), System Support (deskside support), development, security, and management teams in the delivery of technology services
  • Manages the teams’ budget and related financial processes
  • Manages critical technology general control processes, including user access management, segregation of duties, and other controls supporting PCI and SOX requirements
  • Oversees the teams that perform a wide range of system administration duties on core infrastructure, application, database, and other servers, including engineering, installation, break/fix troubleshooting, data protection and optimization
  • Develops, manages and tests the company’s backup, recovery and Disaster Recovery capabilities
  • Mentors teams to adopt DevOps principles, e.g.: Infrastructure as Code
  • Establishes baseline key system performance metrics, tracking and regular reporting to the company with specific plans for improvement where appropriate
  • Stays current with industry best practices, new technology, and information security developments and techniques

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration or related field or equivalent related work experience required
  • Eight or more years of experience in Information Technology with five+ years of experience in Infrastructure
  • Knowledge in Windows and infrastructure engineering with emphasis in server, virtualization, storage, AWS/GCP Cloud and Office365 services
  • Strong, proven problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly analyze the most expedient method to recover business operations
  • Must be committed to a culture of continuous improvement and improving DevOps maturity
  • Experience in leading the data protection, disaster recovery and business continuity operations
  • Experience leading a team
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with users, executives and senior leaders at all levels
  • Based in the DFW area on a hybrid schedule 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
